Next Range Rover revealed, but first a question

Land Rover has released photos and many details of the fourth generation Range Rover, ahead of its launch at the Paris Motor Show. The info's all over the web, so 4wdNewz isn't repeating the same stuff. However, its imminent arrival prompts the question as to whether any New Zealand enthusiasts are using early examples of the current version as "club trucks"? Prices of the earliest ones are well down and they're certainly capable, if a bit complex.Your feedback appreciated as comments, below.

  1. I saw a guy on a safari down south a couple of year's back with one. It had the BMW diesel, running Kumho M/T's and had a snorkel. That's the only one I've seen being used offroad.

  2. Sounds like the one I saw some time ago, I think it was from somewhere around Christchurch.

  3. People don't use them because they're still way too expensive for club use, too complex and the RR Classic does such a good job. I dont think well ever see these models used by enthusiasts.

  4. 2012 Sport $155,000 New. 2008 Sport 75,000km: $60,000 FACT 62% value loss in 4 years.

At that rate of depreciation it can't be long before they start cropping up I guess because after 7 years they will be worth less than a 20 year old 80 series - (and less able I might add). I've already seen a few on safaris etc but as a club truck I dunno. Not enough clearance at end of day no matter how able their electronic wizardry.
