Jeep Wrangler's appaling fuel consumption

Thank heaven for the recent fuel price decreases. After several days of driving just around town, my 3.8 litre V6 Wrangler Rubicon two-door is stilling on 21.1 litres per 100km fuel consumption. That's worse than 20.5 I got recently on similar duties from the V8 petrol Lexus LX570! And yes, the engine is in tune!

  1. Should have kept your Defender 90!

    1. Could be! It didn't seem to do more than 10.5 litres per 100km no matter what it was doing!

  2. New Deefer 110 doing about 11/100km. I like the Rubicons lockers, but thats appalling economy - and its a SWB!

    1. Should have, but the Rubicon only comes in petrol and the stuff it has, like diff locks, super-low gearing, swaybar disconnect etc, were more important to me than lousy fuel consumption.
