Snafu is an acronym with military origins; it stands for Situation Normal: All Fucked Up. Despite that, a keen video guy who calls himself Snafu4WD has, over the years, posted on YouTube what has grown into an excellent collection of off road videos, filmed pretty much from one end of the country to the other. You can find them here. The collection includes footage of many safari events, providing an excellent preview of what's ahead for anyone thinking of going on the next one. Beyond that, a 4WD enthusiast can spend hours armchair off roading, watching others do stupid things, perform brilliantly, dodge rocks or trees, or edge their way past some stunning scenery. The videos are mostly of good to excellent quality. Some are a bit on the long side, but there's always the fast-forward button to the next slice of action.
I've often used Snafu's videos to check out trips we're thinking of going on. Good value.
