Holden NZ will take the Colorado 7 which, in its Chevrolet TrailBlazer guise, is being unveiled at the Bangkok International Motor Show. Like the Toyota 4Runner of yore, it's based on a ute – in this case the imminent Colorado. So it's good to see Holden returning to the market with an off-roadable SUV, not yet another crossover. It'll have a three-tonne towing capacity and a coil-sprung five-link rear suspension in place of the ute's leaf springs.

Datsun's back – as a budget car
Here's a spot of news for those who used to thrash around in Datsun utes. Renault-Nissan has confirmed that the
Datsun name will be revived from 2014 as a budget car brand in some markets including Indonesia, Russia and India. Datsuns were sold between 1932 and 1981.
