A night run in Woodhill Forest near Auckland tonight has been cancelled because of possible danger from high winds. "We're really sorry about this, it is a safety call by the Forestry and was not made lightly," the organisers posted on Facebook. "They can't risk anyone getting hurt if the wind gets up to what the Met Service believes it will." The cancellation drew a certain amount of displeasure from would-be participants. Woodhill night runs are always popular. But there's a glimmer at the end of the windstorm: "We hope to reschedule."
Update: It's been rescheduled for June 20.
