How to conquer a tricky steep downhill

1: Employ a scout to run ahead looking for dips, tree roots or other impediments to forward progress. It helps if the scout is quick on his feet and a really experienced off-roader. Say, for example, winch challenge competitor Jack Talbot, the immediate past president of the Auckland 4WD Club

2: For those passengers a bit leery of being driven down a steep slope, getting out and running down still offers plenty of excitement. For an added challenge, carry a small child while trying to maintain balance.
