A trip to mark on the calendar

Just a heads-up that the annual 4x4 National Park tag-along is on again March 1-2, based out of the Park Hotel, Ruapehu. The five previous events have shown that the region offers some wonderful scenery – when the weather co-operates, and good driving opportunities. Fund go to community facilities like the National Park Playcentre, the National Park community hall restoration project and National Park School. Last year, the $2900 raised was donated to Ruapehu Alpine Rescue. The per vehicle fee for is $90, making it one of the most cost-effective fund-raising trips around. Non-NZ Four Wheel Drive Assn members have to pay an extra $10. Registration closes on 21 February and only 50 vehicles get to go. More info and photos HERE.
