Today's report on tomorrow's used imports

This Trailhawk version is the Cherokee you'd want. It's $65,990 but has the good off-road stuff; quite a bit less if you wait for a used Jap import.
Jeeps are apparently selling well in Japan where it's now the top US brand and, with sales up 33 per cent in the first half of the Japanese fiscal year, is on target to set a sales record for the fifth straight year. It's also become the first US brand to make the top 10 finalists in Japan’s Car of the Year quest, with the Cherokee. Worldwide Jeep sales are up 41 per cent January-September at 747,000 vehicles and the brand looks like it will top a million for the whole year.
