Land Rover's treads on Rugby World Cup's ball
Land Rover will supply vehicles to support the organisers, teams and officials at the Rugby World Cup here next year and at the 2015 event in England. The company’s been putting its tread marks on the game for several years, becoming official vehicle of England Rugby, Premiership Rugby and the UK’s Land Rover Premiership Cup along with sponsorship of the last three British and Irish Lions tours to Australia, Godzone and South Africa. It’s also sponsoring the Emirates Dubai Sevens next month.

Ama-rocks
Here's something I wasn't expecting. Behind 4wdNewz lurks an electronic statistician that keeps track, among other things, of the number of times each item is accessed. The reason I'm even bothering to mention it is that this item on the Volkswagen Amarok has been viewed 10 times more often than any other item since the site started! Second place is something quite different, I only watch Annabel Langbein's show for the Jeep. So I'm assuming there's serious public interest in the German truck that's taking on the almost total dominance of Japanese utes. Interesting, very interesting.

Next Patrol's still bogged
Had a chat with Nissan NZ boss John Manley today. There's still no diesel in sight for the new Patrol. Apparently, 75 per cent of production is earmarked for the Middle East where petrol rules and costs pennies. It's not just a NZ problem, the rest of the world would rather like a diesel, too, but so far Nissan's search has been fruitless. Anecdotally, they've even talked to Cummins.
